Koprivnica - Croatia

The City of Koprivnica has been actively involved in implementing European projects since 2006. The majority of the projects have been promoting sustainable development, with a special focus on energy efficiency in all the sectors that can be influenced by the City authority, especially mobility. The first success that the City government achieved was the European Mobility Week Award for the achievements in promoting sustainable mobility in 2007. This award was the recognition of the efforts of the City government for all activities in the field of sustainable transport from the beginning of the 2000s. The first European funded project in the field of sustainable mobility that the City implemented was the IEE “Active Access” from 2009 to 2012. The project has successfully paved the way for the development of the SUMP of the City of Koprivnica by establishing the urban mobility team in the City, developing the mobility plans for all the schools in Koprivnica, auditing the cycling and pedestrian paths and fostering the overall promotion of cycling and walking in Koprivnica. The next big step was the start of the four year FP7 project, CIVITAS DYN@MO that started in 2012.
