On 21 September 2018, during the European Mobility Week, the Portuguese Institute for Mobility and Transports, with the support of the Municipality of Lisbon and CIVITAS PROSPERITY, organised the National Meeting on Sustainable Mobility Planning.
The opening session of the National Meeting was conducted by the Alderman of Mobility from the Municipality of Lisbon, Miguel Gaspar and by the Head of the Studies, Evaluation and Prospective Service from the Institute for Mobility and Transports, Isabel Botelho.
With more than 60 participants from central, regional and local administration, as well as several mobility specialists with experience on developing SUMPs, the National Meeting was a great success. From the joint debate session on the experience on developing and implementing SUMPs a set of conclusions was reached, namely the need to update the Portuguese Mobility Package (the Portuguese technical framework for SUMPs) and to issue new thematic leaflets for specific areas like urban freight transport.
