On 30 May 2018, the second Polish CIVITAS PROSPERITY SUMP Promo Event took place in Sopot at the University of Gdansk. The second Polish CIVITAS PROSPERITY SUMP Promo Event started with a presentation prepared by the CIVITAS PROSPERITY National Focal Point for Poland, which showed the basic assumptions of the SUMP national support programme, developed in cooperation with the Ministry of Infrastructure in Poland. The intervention also included information on the results achieved so far and on further tasks of the project.
Further presentations were held by representatives of the University of Economics in Katowice, the University of Gdańsk, the Municipal Transport Authority in Gdynia and the City of Kraków concerned selected aspects of the methodology of planning sustainable urban mobility, such as, for example, the role and responsibility of stakeholders in the process of planning sustainable urban mobility in the municipality of Kraków, transport behaviour in the context of shared mobility services, or the results of research on travel behaviors of people commuting to work and places of study, with particular emphasis on Gdynia.
Finally, the participants discussed the possibilities of promoting and developing the concept of sustainable urban mobility planning in Polish cities more widely.
